Does someone  have to be called by God to help his  neighbor? You might wonder who is my neighbor? Luke 10:25-37 If your family was in a tragic wreck and lays half dead and by chance your pastor or some Christian passes by, should he have to be called by God to help your family? Certainly not; he has a moral obligation.
The opinion of many pastors and Christians today on the sad problem of abortion is that it takes a special calling from God to get involved (preach, teach, stand for, give money). “It’s not my calling” is an excuse to keep their distance and pass by on the other side. But God’s word says we are to be the church, not just go to church. Matthew 25:31-46 What are you and your church doing to stop abortion? Everyone can do something. Most people don’t even pray regularly that it would stop.

I would like to share a story with you to make a point. A pastor was at a church building in a small city. He was sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with a man on the front steps. All of a sudden, he heard a noise from behind and turned. To his amazement, a young boy was being beaten by a man with a two-by-four. What should the pastor do? Should he continue to share the gospel? Or should he help the child?

1 John 4:20-21 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

Proverbs 24:10-12 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

According to statistics, 75 to 100 children die each week in Jackson, MS from suction abortion - having their bodies pulled apart. Should you and I care? Do you know one other place in Mississippi today where one person is certain to be killed, much less twenty? The Bible says in Matthew 7:12, Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. The issue of abortion is a gospel issue.

What would you have someone do for you and your family if you were going to be put to death unjustly? We all know the answer: Help! Please help!

Again, many pastors and Christians think getting involved in this abomination (abortion) is on the same level as feeding the poor, visiting the sick in the hospital, going to the nursing home, or handing out a tract. Those who believe this are deceived on this issue. To love one’s neighbor is not a calling but a commandment. The pharisees told Jesus that he was wrong by helping someone on the Sabbath. Jesus cared more about people than man-made rules. Read Mark 3:1-6 and John 5:1-16

Jesus didn’t say that all men would know you are His disciples because you are a pastor, deacon, teacher, attend church, sing in a choir, or give money to the church. Notice Jesus’ words: A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; As I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34-35

You must answer this question. What will you say to the Lord Jesus when He asks,, Did you do it (show mercy) unto the least of these?

Matthew 25:45-46 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into life eternal.

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Are you deceived? If not, then please join with us to end abortion.
