There is no question that the church of America has little influence today on our society. Do you ever wonder why that is? There are people out there who want to serve the Lord and defend the truth, but why does the "church" overall have so little impact on the moral judgments being made in our society in America?

Judges decide who lives or is worthy of life. For example, look at theTerri Schaivo case.
A living breathing person was put to death bystarvation -by a single judge. Judges decided that abortion is legal, judges decided that prayer in school was unconstitutional and judges decided sodomy legal.

In a Christ-centered society, this would be impossible. In a Christ-centered church, this would have never happened.

In America and possibly around the world, Christ is divided. Why is this continuing to happen when we all have the same Word of God? In a Christ-centered, Word-of-God-centered church, this could not happen, but simply put, we, the current assembly of the body are superficially Christ-centered.

Why do you go to the church you currently attend? That is a tricky question. The church "ekklesia" means called out ones. The assembly is to be those that are called out of the world to be a part of the body of Christ. These are people whose lives have ceased to be centered around themselves and what pleases them is to do what is pleasing to God alone.

A Christ-centered group of believers come together because they love Christ, not the preacher, the youth programs, the comfortable pews, the music, entertaining trips, gymnasium or because their doctrine tolerates their sin. The "church" today is centered around what is pleasing to man. What man thinks, feels, believes and those who think and feel and believe some of the same things.

The Word of God says Christ is not divided, I Cor. 1:12-13. Then how is the church divided? Or is it? Jesus said, a housed divided against itself cannot stand, Luke 11:17. If you have a strong enemy you must either be stronger or find a way to divide your enemy so that you can conquer smaller divisions of your enemy. Thus today, we have many divisions all claiming to be "Christianity," but how can that be? Christ in not divided.

Thus, the true church is not divided against itself. The true "ekklesia," called out ones are united. The true church submits itself totally to the authority of the Word of God. So what is the big problem with the divisions? Man inserts his will and his desire to have everything his way when Jesus is not Lord of all that we have now. If someone asks you what religion you are, what is your answer? What has been your answer? If it is Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Episcopal, Catholic, then you may need to examine yourself.

II Cor. 13:5 says examine yourself to see whether you are in the faith. We are a house divided against itself and thus we do not stand. We will not stand for prayer in our schools but it is acceptable to teach the children evolution and that there is no God.

Do you worship the Lord Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth or do you serve a religion that is pleasing to you and gives you what you want? The true church is set-up organized and equipped by Almighty God and dependent upon Him to supply their needs, not church by-laws, doctrines, orders of worship, music and men voted in to lead by a majority of members. That is a corporation or business set to draw in new members, to get the numbers up to draw in more money for more programs and for bigger buildings. That is not the true church. We don't send out teams to find pastors and search for someone to run the business.

Ephesians 4:11 says And He Himself gave some to be apostles (commissioners of Christ), some prophets (foreteller), some evangelists (preacher), some pastors (shepherds administrator) and teachers (an instructor, master, teacher). These are men that He Himself gave to the "ekklesia".
Verse 12 explains that this is for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

You see, God Himself will send what we need if we are centered on the edification of the body of Christ. The called out ones in America have not yet humbled themselves to God's will to allow Him to rule and reign in their lives as God. Do you see then that we are religious and not yet fully repentant, completely changing our thinking of doing our will?

So what religion are you?
