About Me

My Testimony:

James Kitchens

Born September 17, 1961
Born Again May 1999

The scripture says sin is pleasurable for a season but then death comes, my season lasted 38 years. The path I chose was idolatry, fornication and lying. I chased after women with a passion like you would not believe. I was so blinded by lust until I honestly thought there was nothing wrong with a person having sex and not being married to them. I worshiped sports. I played softball on 3 different teams a week and basketball in the winter on 2 different teams. Over the course of time, these things had deep roots in me. I would compare myself to others that drank and smoked, and to people in trouble with the law all the time. I came to the conclusion that I was a real good person because I did not drink or smoke and was never in trouble with the law. I literally thought I was 9 3/4 on the 10 scale and I would look down on people who had those addictions and because of that, I hurt a lot of people - some for no reason at all. Over a period of time, even something as good as having sex with as many women as I could got old. Situations came up that started to give all my pleasure a downhill turn and I didn't understand why.

The Bible says whatever a man sows that shall he also reap, and threw reaping. I heard the Lord say to me, "it's time". He spoke through a woman who is a very good friend of mine, but at the time, she didn't even know me. She was talking to someone else and invited them to revival. I overheard it and the Lord said to me, “it can all change tonight”. I went to that revival and Jesus Christ himself met me on the way and made Himself real to me. I saw myself in truth and saw how not good of a person I was. The Bible says there is none that is good, no, not one, and from that night forth I started living a life to please my Heavenly Father.

As I studied the scriptures, I understood what happened on Calvary. Romans 8:28 is the scripture that jumped off the page and put water in my eyes when I read it. I have done a lot of wrong in my life and to know that Jesus not only died for my sins and rose to give me life everlasting, but to hear the promise that all that I have done will work together for my good is too much for me to understand. Whoever is reading this, I do not know where your walk with the Lord is, you may not know the plan of salvation. I want to say this to you, there is no hope for you outside of Jesus Christ. Once you have truly repented of your sins and turned to Jesus, only then will you see the plan of salvation. The scripture says there is salvation in no other name other than Jesus Christ. All things have worked together for my good because I love the Lord Jesus Christ.
